Social & Emotional

Clipart by: www.MyCuteGraphics.comEarly childhood classroom settings are a chance for exploration and excitement. Yet, with the eagerness to try new things early learners are still developing appropriate social behavior. They are in the process of learning to take turns, sharing without taking objects from another child, and using their words instead of using their feet, hands, or teeth. I have worked on some resources for teachers to use in their classroom.

Are You a Bucket Filler?

Below are book resources from Amazon.com. Cheri J. Meiners M.Ed, writes simple, but to the point books to develop appropriate social behavior in the classroom setting. I own a majority of the books and use them during large group literacy for the first month of school to teach procedures for the classroom. In the back of each book are ideas to use when reading aloud and follow-up activities which are perfect for small group instruction.
