Room Reveal {Finally!}

I finally have carved out enough time to post pictures of my 2015 - 2016 Pre-K classroom. I am so excited about this year.

This is a view of our front door. The students love finding their name on the door.

This is a picture of my math focus board. During small groups the students can manipulate the activities in the pocket charts. The math focus board printables will be available in my Teachers Pay Teachers store by Thanksgiving 2015. I like to test drive the material before posting on TPT.

This is my daily focus board. I use this as a review during transition times and during closing each day. I pick the letters, numbers, sight words, shapes, and vocabulary that we are concentrating on weekly and monthly and place here. The daily focus board printables will be available in my Teachers Pay Teachers store by Thanksgiving 2015. I like to test drive the material before posting on TPT.

Summer is Ending!

I cannot believe that summer vacation is winding down and school starts on August 5th. I am always excited and nervous at the same time. This year will be the first time that I teach Special Ed. Pre-K, this should be an interesting year.

As always I spend my summer vacation revising and and coming up with new ideas for the upcoming school year. I have decided to go with a Space theme for my classroom. I told myself this year I was going to take  before and after pictures of my classroom. I sort of did. I didn't take pictures of the hot mess where all of the centers, tables, chairs (basically everything in the room) was covered and pushed into the middle. What you see is the centers pushed to where they are going to be for the year. Now, I am working on bulletin boards, relabeling some centers, and organization.

DAY 2

This is a picture from my desk which this year is located in the back of the room. Heavenly air conditioning will be blowing on me, and I will not freeze my parapro!

This is the left side of my classroom where science, art, and some of the dramatic play center can be seen.

Stay tuned for more classroom revels as I go along. I am also (keep your fingers crossed) making steps for my SMARTBoard. I have wonderful plans, but sometimes the execution is lacking!

PP. 3 - 8  Superhero Behavior Clip Chart: It is suggested to print on card stock, cut out, laminate for durability, and then assemble.

PP. 9 Individual Superhero Behavior Clip Chart: Instead of making a public display of student’s behavior, use the Individual Superhero Behavior Clip Chart. The charts can be placed in the student’s desk, cubby, in a folder, basically anywhere that is out of sight. Simply print on card stock, cut out, and laminates for durability.

PP. 10-11 (2) Types of Name Tags: Name tags fit standard size wooden clothespins (dimensions: 0.5 “ H x 0.38 “ W x 3.25 “ L.) I send home the behavior report in the student’s communication folder every day. The parents initial on the line each day. At the end of the month I file their behavior report in their assessment folder for future reference.
