All About the Letter F Independent Practice - Letter of the Week

The All About the Letter Ff Independent Practice Packet is the perfect accompaniment to the All About the Letter Ff SMARTBoard Activity. I have used a variety of the activities in both whole and small group instruction.

All About the Letter Ff Independent Practice

All About the Letter Ff Independent Practice contains the following:
  • Where is the Letter Ff? Find the upper and lowercase letter Ff out of a random group of letters. Then count how many uppercase and lowercase Ff’s and write the number at the bottom of the paper.
  • Where is the Letter Ff? Find the upper and lowercase letter Ff in the nursery rhyme, Five Speckled Frogs. Then count how many uppercase and lowercase Ff’s and write the number at the bottom of the paper. Finally, practice writing the letter F.
  • Ff is for Frog Help Freddy Frog Find his fly. Follow the upper and lowercase F’s to the easel.
  • Find, Graph, & Tally Count the number of objects and color in the matching number of squares.
  • Write. Find.  Practice writing the letter F. Find the picture that does not belong. Find the letter F out of a group of letters.
  • Big F, little f What Begins With F?  Draw a picture that begins with the letter Ff. Practice writing the letter Ff.
  • Letter Ff Vocabulary Cards: fish, feather, football, fire, fan, food, four, five, fourteen, fifteen, family, and fox.
  • Write the Room
  • Which One Does Not Belong? Put an F on the pictures that do not begin with the Letter F. Put an X on the letter that does not belong.
  • Which One Comes Next?  Write the letter that comes next in the pattern. Use the pictures at the bottom of the page to finish the pattern.
  • Sort Uppercase and Lowercase Letter Ff  Use the frogs printed with the letters Ff, Gg, Hh, Ii, and Jj. Sort the upper and lowercase letter Ff frogs on to the matching lily pads.
  • Letter Ff Sorting Mat  Use the pictures and sort by beginning letter F sound onto the mat.

Directions: Print Letter F Vocabulary Cards, Sort Uppercase and Lowercase Letter F, and Letter Ff Sorting Mat on cardstock and laminate for durability.

There are over 20 pages of interactive activities to promote and reinforce letter, critical thinking, and math concepts. All About the Letter F is perfect for whole group, small group, and individual practice on the SMARTBoard or on a computer with the SMARTNotebook software installed.


All About the Letter Ff file contains the following activities:
  • Letter F Vocabulary Words
  • Where is the letter F? Circle the upper and lowercase letter out of a random group of letters. Then count and write how many uppercase and lowercase F’s you found.
  • Where is the letter F? Circle the upper and lowercase letter F’s from the nursery rhyme, “Five Speckled Frogs?” Then count and write how many uppercase and lowercase F’s you found.

  • Direct teacher-led instruction on how to write the uppercase and lowercase letter F.
  • Let’s write the letter F. Individual practice for students.
  • Write the missing letter. Students write the missing letter of words beginning with the letter F.
  • F is for Frog. Help Freddy Frog find His Fly. Draw a line from Freddy Frog to his fly  by following the path of upper and lowercase letter F’s.
  • What comes next? Drag the picture and or letter which come next in the pattern.
  • What does not belong? Write an F on the letter and or picture that does not belong.
  • Sort uppercase and lowercase letter F. Upper and lowercase letters are printed on frogs. Drag the frogs on to the matching lily pads.
  • Sort beginning letter /f/ sound. Drag the pictures that begin with the /f/ sound onto the frog.
  • Find, Graph, and Tally. Find the letters, count the letters, and color in the correct number of squares. Then practice using tally marks to count the letters. Then determine which letter had the most and which had the least.      
  • Find, Graph, and Tally. Find the picture, count the pictures, and color in the correct number of squares. Then practice using tally marks to count the pictures. Then determine which picture had the most and which had the least.
  • Let’s Play a Game. Word Search. Use the word list. Use a highlight marker and find the letter F words.
  • Read! Write! Make! Practice tracing, making, and writing words beginning with the letter F.
  • Let’s Build the Letter. Construct the upper and lowercase letter F out of straight and curvy lines.


Directions: It is recommended NOT to save the file once you have downloaded and extracted. This way the game does not have to be re-set.

All About the Letter E Independent Practice - Letter of the Week

The All About the Letter Ee Independent Practice Packet is the perfect accompaniment to the All About the Letter Ee SMARTBoard Activity. I have used a variety of the activities in both whole and small group instruction.

All About the Letter Ee Independent Practice contains the following:
  • Where is the Letter Ee? Find the upper and lowercase letter Ee out of a random group of letters. Then count how many uppercase and lowercase Ee’s and write the number at the bottom of the paper.

  • Ee is for Elephant Help Emily Elephant find her easel. Follow the upper and lowercase E’s to the easel.
  • Find, Graph, & Tally Count the number of objects and color in the matching number of squares.
  • Write. Find.  Practice writing the letter E. Find the picture that does not belong. Find the letter E out of a group of letters.
  • Big E, little e What Begins With E?  Draw a picture that begins with the letter Ee. Practice writing the letter Ee.
  • Letter Ee Vocabulary Cards: easel, egg, eagle, elbow, ear, electrical cord, elephant, eraser, excited, envelope, enter, and eleven.
  • Write the Room
  • Which One Does Not Belong? Put an E on the pictures that do not begin with the Letter E. Put an X on the letter that does not belong.
  • Which One Comes Next?  Write the letter that comes next in the pattern. Use the pictures at the bottom of the page to finish the pattern.
  • Sort Uppercase and Lowercase Letter Ee  Use the Easter eggs printed with the letters Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, Ee, Sort the upper and lowercase letter Ee Easter eggs into the matching baskets.
  • Letter Ee Sorting Mat  Use the pictures and sort by beginning letter E sound onto the mat.
